It almost seems as though 2018 is meant to be the year that we try some new happenings at the Senior Citizen Center!

April found us experiencing our first annual “Spring” One-Stop-Shopping Event, and it was successful, so that has now been added to our calendar for next spring.

Friday, Aug. 17 will find us with yet another new adventure — a “carnival” theme family fun night! Kingston of Ashland is the sponsor for this event, and will do so as a Fundraiser for our Senior Center. Simple food items will be available ala carte, while there will be fun games and prizes and more!

Our fun will begin at 4:30 p.m., and we will have games and prizes for all age groups, Face Painting (painted arm tattoos) and a Balloon Artist! A cotton candy machine and a popcorn machine will also be included in the evening’s events. These particular activities will be offered through a multi-ticket purchase, where participants will pay for their selected activity with tickets!

Beginning at 6 p.m., as we prepare for the close of our Carnival, a Cake Walk (18 and up) and a Cupcake Walk (under 18) with prizes will be offered at a per-walk ticket purchase. How long has it been since you have participated in a cake walk? And if you have never participated in one, they are fun!

We are hopeful this carnival theme will bring back some special memories and that you will want to join us, along with your family and friends, for a memorable, inexpensive and fun time at the Senior Center! We do ask that you take note that all participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Oh, yes, this information is about a month early, but this just gives you an opportunity to mark your calendar, join us for the fun and reminisce with a walk down memory lane, while making some new memories!
